Painting Help - Pigs

Post by cstoesen » Mon Apr 08, 2019 2:26 pm

I finished with a pig sty for my Russian Front terrain. Now I need to add some pigs. Can someone recommend a painting guide with specific colors to help me out? I am partially color blind and have trouble with color matching.

Thanks in advance.

Not pink!
I would go with light grey base colour and black patches - or saddleback

Hi Chris, I would suggest browns and gingers if you want another option.

Pictures are of a trio of female pigs which are Tamworth crossed with Mangalitsa, both considered rather old breeds so would be familiar in many periods if you want your pigs to cover vast areas and period options.

I have to say you can't go wrong with pigs - there are such a range of types and colours anything can look good! but then I do like my pigs.....

Thanks guys. These are some solid options. If I can break out the paint today, I will give it a shot. I may do some in the gay and black. I think I can handle that.

Decided ro go with the iron age pigs from warbases as more suitably Soviet!.
Good luck with the painting I look forward to seeing the results.

They look as happy as pigs in mud!
