Saw this thread on PMT the other day:

And I picked up the Eric Wittenberg book on this cavalry fight.
I've been kicking around doing the Brinkerhoff's Ridge fight with TCHAE, with the regimental commander as CiC instead of the divisional commander and the disparate squadron/pairs of company commanders as the brigade commanders.
Anyone see any problem with this, maybe other than tracking down commander names?

John,
Just a resource for the 10th NY Cavalry Regiment, among those engaged at Brinkerhoff’s Ridge.

There is a link to a roster but it is 299 pages long.

Wow. I was gonna stick to 2 troopers/4 infantry figures a stand. Although, I could probably do a squadron at 1:1.

A squadron at 1:1, tell me more/how. Thanks

Re: "Micro" Elephant
I collected enough 1/72 cavalry troopers to do Brandy Station with the normal TCHAE basing. I reckon there's over a thousand of each side I have on hand. That's enough to base up a 1:1 squadron. Wouldn't have any idea how to play it with any of the rules.
I'm still not sure how I'm going to do the Brinkerhoff fight as of yet.

So a squadron would be equal to 200 men at full strength?

Re: "Micro" Elephant
In the field, that's about right. Two companies of 100 or so effectives.
For this game, I'm thinking doing 1 stand = 25 troopers or for the 2nd Virginia Infantry, 1 stand = 50 soldiers. 2nd VA had 333 effectives present, between the 10th NY and 16th PA Cavalry regiments, about the same.
A very small skirmish game, 7 commander cards per side.
