Mexican American War conversion

Post by BrianW »

Has anyone looked at doing a Mexican-American War conversion for LFS? Given the size of battles in that conflict, you would probably have to use some of the conversions for AWI in the Taxes, Tea and Tories article from one of the old Specials. That is, 1"=25 yards, and 1 casting equals about 20-25 men, with the time scale being about 10-15 minutes.

I've looked for a good set of rules covering this conflict for years, but with no satisfaction. The Virtual Armchair General is working on a set, but it has been under construction for quite some time now. Anyway, any thoughts or comments about this idea of a MAW LFS?

We haven't tried an LFS conversion but my friend and regular opponent Allan is busy painting 10mm Pendraken figures so that we can try gaming this war using the General Bonaparte Meets Chain of Command (GBCOC) rules which we are play testing for Daz. He is confident that they should work well.
Hopefully we can get a game in early in the New Year.

Ahhh, OK. That's what the GBCOC I keep hearing about is.
