Ditto.

As an aside, I found the VL approach made it much (MUCH) easier to replicate night fighting and other forms of restricted visibility than sitting around a conventional table (two games of Coastal Patrol and a Verdun-located game of TTM&TB).
No plan survives first contact with the dice.
