Hi there. Free French used the foreign toe's. In example 1st DFL had to reorganize in 1944 from the British standard to the US one. That was because of standardisation for the weapons delivery. French Infanterie Portée from First Army, Zouaves and Légionnaires, followed the 1943 pattern because of the lack of weapons and french speaking soldiers. But the RMT probably followed the US 1944 standard toe because it was part of the US 3rd army. For the Free French before 1943, you can look at Paul Gaujac's books about the Armée de la libération. They cover the French army after 1941.

Hijacking this thread, do we have a CoC list for Bir Hakeim as yet? I havea Free French Africa Tirailleurs list but I feel it should have some more "special" weapons for that particular part of the theatre or conflict

Thanks to the creator of Battle of Gazala PSC, I now have a list for the Free French but I feel it is still lacking a few possible support units. I had started my own list using a blank CoC template that someone unearthed in our group. I will keep on working on it.

Is the OP of Battle of Gazala 1942 still on this Forum? I would like to use some of his wording and tables.
