Following last year's successful move to the venue, Steel Lard will be returning this year to Patriot Games in Sheffield.
Taking place on Saturday 18th November, the event will see quality Lard games including:
Harpers Ferry, A Tragedy in Two Acts - John Brown's 1859 insurrection portrayed using What A Cowboy
A Rock and a Hard Place - von Braun's glider assault on Tavronitis bridge, Crete 1941 using Chain of Command
Morning Glory on the Combahee - Union forces mount an amphibious attack on Southern plantations with the aim of destroying infrastructure and freeing slaves, Sharp Practice rules
More details of games to follow as we have them but we're expecting some Kiss Me Hardy, some Vietnam War and First World War Chain of Command, and some Risorgimento action using Pickett's Charge.
If you'd like to take part, please message me here!

Ste
I think we started about 10am last time and this seemed to work well. No plans to change at the moment but we'll confirm closer to the time.
The charge last time was £10 to cover the cost of hiring the tables and and to provide some lunch to attendees. Again, no plans to change this but I need to do the maths based on the number of attendees before I confirm.

Just a quick note to say a massive thank you to Richard C for his flawless orgnaisation and to all the folk who kindly put on and umpired their fantastic games.
First class tables, welcoming venue, great company and have no doubt that everyone present entered into that unspoken "Lardy contract" to make sure one's fellow players enjoyed the games as much as oneself - the hallmark of a proper Lardy Day.
I'm sure others more IT savvy than myself will post photos or blog entries
Cheers all,
Jason

Def agree
Going in I wanted to play SP as my club chums and I have played a few games that have ended up one bunch behind a wall shooting at another bunch behind a hedge and wall wins eventually.
What I learned is make it a story, with side plots, alligator attacks, multiple opportunities for chaos, pumpkin desecration and strap in for a rollocking good time.
It's a thumbs up from me.

Another vote of thanks to Richard for organising another great day of gaming - and the venue wins the ‘best cakes’ competition!
