Marines of the Guard

Post by RichardIV »

Hi everyone

I picked up some 25mm Minifigs on a well known auction site - Marines of the Guard. Having done a limited amount of research I've found out that these are sailors rather than what I would consider the more traditional 'marine' i.e. seaborne soldiers.

Has anyone used these in SP?

Sailors seem to rated as 'tribe' but somehow that doesn't seem appropriate for these chaps - uniformed, all armed with muskets.

Thanks

From my reading around this unit, they were multi talented. At various times acting as pontoonier, gunners, including from a raft in one campaign as well as Infantry. I'm not an SP player but quality troops.

Are figures in the braided 'hussar' style uniform or the double breastfed 'undress' uniform?

Dave C ..thanks..double breastfed?

The ones I have are in a fairly bright blue tunic and trousers (might need toning down a bit - cross between sky blue and royal blue), shako with yellow collar, cuffs, shako cord and plume...
