Deploy and Reserves actions
Not sure of the difference here, I csn see that the Rederves order can be used to redeploy armour, but other than that what is difference when deploying reserve units either from battalion or company (by which I mean their commander started on the table)?
Re: Deploy and Reserves actions
G57,
When using the Reserves Action you can deploy two platoons at once, which means the opponent only has one possible react fire opportunity against these troops.
These platoons also gain a move bonus, as they can use all the dice scores from the 3D6 Rapid Move, rather than just choosing the best two. See Section 9.6 p42.
Hope that helps.

Re: Deploy and Reserves actions
Thanks DB
To clarify, these Actions do cover both types of reserve units (those for companies where the commander starts the game on the table and those reserves where the commander is held off table) don't they?
Also, my opponent is adamant that the Deploy order, when deploying on the table edge does not include the ability to move, rapid move (top 2 dice only), or move and fire, this he is saying needing another order...
I do not think this is the case, the ability to move, rapid move, or move and fire being included in that Deploy action.
Who is right here?

Re: Deploy and Reserves actions
Normal deployment is considered movement in itself. You can fire in addition to deploying, at - 2 dice.

Re: Deploy and Reserves actions
Thanks Peter. So you can deploy and then move / fire with a deploy order.
Re: Deploy and Reserves actions
No. You can deploy and then fire. No movement without a second command.

Thanks for the info either way.

G57,
See Deploy Action Section 8.3, p32-33.
"Deploying on the table edge is classed as the beginning of movement and the player may decide to move on using either a Move & Fire or Rapid Move action. "
