Reservists and howitzers

Post by Maturin »

So this is really two questions....
1. Early Prussian Fusilier Battalions designated as Reservist. Can they act independantly in skirmish formation? or because they are really only Recruits should only be allowed to operate as a closed unit or be added into an existing brigade screen?
2. The von Kotsch Saxon battery at Jena/Schleiz contained only howitzers. Do you think we should have a modifier rule for these or treat this unit as all other 8lbs?

T,

1) May deploy into independent SO while still "fresh".

2) To keep matters simple keep them as an 8pdr battery. (I'm not sure of the actual poundage, but if they were akin to 24pdrs then give them an extra CD at Close Range!)

Thanks Dave, just the ticket
Don't have the Summerfield at hand but I think they were small howitzers so maybe Hoyer 8pdrs. So will leave well alone.
