Optional rules

Post by zabarr »

I’m curious, which optional rules do you use and which optional rules do you avoid? What’s the main reason for using or not?

Ione optional rule I use is if the enemy is over 30" away then only one ADC needed for a forward move.

As for ones I don't like seems a bit daft as their optional 😂😂😂

We use CinC Command Radius as we play on quite a large table. We also use all the unit quality ratings Grenadier/Reservists etc as these really add some flavour to our armies. We use the Vulnerable Targets and Traversing Fire as they are easy to remember. We haven’t really used the National Optional Rules as our battles so far have all been post 1809 and until recently no-one had a Russian force but, now we have a megalomaniac collecting Russians we will be doing some earlier scenarios so will probably use these as well.
The main reason for not using the others is we simply never remember them! :D :D :D

The Grenadier/reservist one is a easy one to start with.

Very cool, thanks guys. The optional rules on reading all seem to make perfect sense to me. I'm curious about regulating battalion. Is that one that gets much use?
