Whipped and the next move

Post by Michaelt »

If a unit charges and is whipped can it move forward again or charge in the following move if the brigade is not hesitant?

A whipped unit will rally to unformed, if the brigade is under command.

So you can either spend the turn forming up, or moving, etc.

Hi Dave,
I have been a bit busy of late so I am just catching up on the forum.
I hesitate to question your answer, given they are your rules, but on page 49 under "Whipped & routed reforming" it says;

If the brigade is Obeying Orders, any Whipped and Routed units are considered automatically rallied and will reform in the current movement phase. An entire movement phase is required to reform for all troop grades; no other movement action may be taken.

So, a unit charges and is whipped, at the start of the next turn the brigade passes its command roll.
The whipped unit rallies but is unformed.
Surely this turn must be spent reforming?

Regards
Tony

T,

That's actually what I was trying to say, but not very well. :oops:

Yes, if you subsequently rally in the following turn due to passing the command roll the unit then spends that turn's movement phase reforming.
