Oak Grove Refight

Post by Fat Wally »

A couple of weeks ago my ten yr old son and I re-tailored the GaG Oak Grove scenario for Pickett's Charge, and had a whole heap of fun.

The Federals dragged their feet with very Hesitant commands early on but then brought their great weight in numbers to bear. They managed to cross the King Schoolhouse Road but were thrown back by furious Rebel charges. At one point bayonets crossed even. The first time this has happened in 20+ games of PC.

Johnny Jack the little swine eventually flanked me from the Williamsburg Road and won the game in the end for the Rebs breaking two brigades. We played 15 turns in four hours.

Thought I'd share some of the pics. All figures are 15mm, mostly Peter Pig with a few Old Glory and Blue Moon, owned and painted by yours truly. Building is Timecast 10mm.

This is fantastic. The photos are awesome. Any chance you could PM me the OBs you used, especially the troops and leader qualities?
