whipped D3 casualties

Post by de-pulley »

Hello there
We seem to be in some confusion at our club , about this situation, if a Reb unit fires at a Union unit , and it scores a 9 on the standard volley table , it also gets a Elephant test , now if it becomes Whipped as a result of rolling a 4 on the E/T does it then apply a D3 casualties , in addition to the 3 already suffered ??
thank you Mark

M,

If Whipped due to a Charge situation = Yes.

If Whipped due to Fire = No.

Hello there
thank you for the reply
where the confusion comes from, is paragraph three under the Morale paragraph, on the FAQ, which says "Units whipped or Routed as a result of an adverse "See the elephant test" apply the extra casualties as a result of being Whipped/ routed as well" What does that paragraph relate to ?
and am i right then that it never applies to a firing situation ?
thank you for getting back so prompt

D-P,

Sorry about that, its currently as written in the FAQ - I'm confusing this with a recent rules tweak!

Sorry but that last entry has made it even more confusing ??
So do we apply the casualties from a failed See the elephant test , as a result of firing or not ? and if so what does that paragraph relate too ?

D-P,

Yes, apply it to retreating from a charge and retreating from fire due to a failed ET.
