Table size question

Post by acctingman » Thu Nov 01, 2018 4:24 pm

Just played my first game of IABSM on a 3x3 area using 6mm. While 6mm GHQ armor is nice I was wondering if 15mm would work on a smaller table? I'm currently using a 3x3 area, but might be able to stretch it out to 4x4.

Does anyone have a similar setup using 15mm on a 4x4'ish area? If so, have any pictures to help me visualize it? Searching AAR's here and TMP

Thanks

City fighting should be OK.

Well, 15mm would be fine for a smaller platoon on platoon action, but I have CoC for that. I've decided to go 10mm. The fine folks at Pendraken were kind enough to send me some samples (I made a TMP post asking about comparisons between Pithead and Pendraken armor) and with my table size 10mm looks like the best alternative for me. 6mm is just too small and 15mm using a company vs company is just too big.

I've being playing with essentially 'IABSM Lite', or smaller scenarios that can be finished in an evening. 4x4 with 15mm figures is perfectly doable like that: certainly wouldn't change the ground scale.

Thanks Mike

Now you really have me thinking that 15mm might work, but I really need to see how big my table space will be. I don't think I can get 4x4. 3x3 might be as big as I can go. At that size, 15mm might be a tad crowded for me, but I do like your table setup.

There's some more photos somewhere of the IABSM Lite game we took to Partizan - hang on while I dig them out :D

Now I can handle that table size right there, but that looks more like a CoC game than a IABSM game!

Nice looking setup, thanks for sharing that.

Believe it or not, that’s a 4x4 table in 15mm for IABSM :)
