Hexless Bag the Hun
Anyone looked at doing this Hexless? I like the system, but want to play on any surface, not just hex-gridded one.

Maybe Algy2 can be used as a basis for this since that went "hexless".
You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!

Was thinking of it after hearing about the change. I have a group of WW-2 aviation buffs and I have to satisfy their realism bent.

Yeah, I reckon it would be a shoe-in to take the Algy system and transfer it across to Bag the Hun. I hope to get cracking on Algy soon, but am still catching up with all the CoC fun!

Looking forward to it Rich.
If you get a test set together I would be happy to try them out with the group here.

I'd be happy to play test as well. I have a dozen JU88's and similar amounts of BF109's and BF110's on the painting table for when my Desert Rats are finished.

don't see why it wouldn't work especially having seen how well it works when testing Algy. My only possible doubt is that fights in BTH seem a lot bigger than those covered in Algy.
Most of the tests of Algy I have done or heard off seem to be flight vrs flight at most and Bth can go to multi squadron actions. Which is something I cant solo to be honest.

Hi folks,
At the risk of thread necromancy, there is a sort of Hexless Bag the Hun already.
I wrote an article and produced a set of print and play resources (manoeuvre and formation templates) that specifically allows the game as published to be played on a hexless surface. The article was published in the 2012 Summer Special.
Note that the system preceded the more recent discussion and playtesting of the Hexless Algy Version, which uses a completely new (and as yet unpublished) system.
Anyway, just in case you're interested - check it out.
Tally ho,
Graham

Necro!
My esteemed chums at BIG in Bristol are going to be getting into BTH in a big way (the don't know that yet!)
We are using 1 inch hexes for 1:600, before I beat the Summer special for hex-less play, will the templates work at this size?

Re: Hexless Bag the Hun
they are scalable to the hex size (I bought the special for just this purpose) so yes - just need to play with your printer settings.
