I'm looking forward to the Far East Handbook, and I'm just hoping my current Japanese organisation based on the published Japanese lists in the specials etc will be easily transferrable to the island hopping campaigns, and that I bought enough 1st Corps Marine figures to do a 1942 and 1943 USMC Platoon.

I have based my Japanese sections on the early war 13 man organization so in the later lists will have enough for 1 or 2 support sections.

I've done the same TT. 3 x 13 man sections plus a 13 man knee mortar section. I still have to figure out how the various teams (none?) work, and I'm waiting to get an artillery piece and a scout car in the mail. Looks like I will have to buy and paint another sprue for the artillery crew too.

Ah, I just checked my copy of the Saipan rules, I may be short a few BAR for the Marine organisation. I will check once I have finished painting some Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders for Malaya.

Guys, plastic soldier company just released US marines in 20mm, licensed by Xan Miniatures. Just in case...

I just saw that. Slightly floppy tips of weapons so you hope those would straighten out in hot water. Hope the proportions allow up to 1 in 4 with BAR.

They do look good, but I have just finished my Japanese in 28mm.. 20mm USMC would look odd 😳

There are three different BAR in the box. And a total of 9 BAR.
Japanese will follow soon.

9 is good, three gives one to each team per squad, each with a BAR, and three squads to a platoon. Still sticking with my 28mm 1st Corps USMC.

Incidentally, most of the figures in the platoon look great, but the two farthest left look horribly disfigured in the face.
