thanks for the answer, but it still seems cheap to me...

I have never liked the way that the extra command die makes turns end faster, and with greens how turns never end with only 4 dice available. What if the elite get an extra die, but it's 6 doesn't count? throw it separetely, or use another colour die. Likewise for greens, throw an extra die, but here it is only the 6 that will count.

I'm not sure you can compensate for an extra dice with support points. An extra dice (6 dice vs 5 in this example) allows you to do 20% more stuff each time you drop the dice. You're almost twice as likely to get consecutive phases and you'll get a chain dice much quicker. Since the goal is usually to break the other guy, giving him more stuff doesn't make that less likely to happen really. So while I can agree that bumping a unit one level for an extra dice seems pretty cheap, I don't think this works much along this axis of adjustment.

As far as getting two successive phases the odds are about 15% for 4 dice, 20% for 5 dice and 25% for 6 dice.

The main advantage is getting typically one extra action a phase.

Mr P is correct. The odds of having a turn end are almost twice as likely for 6 dice (6.2%) than 5 dice (3.5%).

More important, what are the relative chances of getting two phases in a row?

True, but as mentioned no force will be 6 dice without having also had the 33% uplift for elite, so it's a double whammy.

Although, for example, elite panzergren are only 5D but aggressive.

Is there someway to hold this thread near the top of the threads so we can find it easily? Or perhaps put the CoCulator in a revised FAQ?

It would be nice if it was mad a "sticky" thread. In the meantime.. bookmark it! :)
