Early days of March 1798 - a sharp practice AAR

Post by maerk »

Hy guys,
we recently played a little-known theatre: the french invasion of the swiss cantons in 1789 and you can find my Illustrated AAR here http://minimaerk.blogspot.com/2018/08/t ... sharp.html.

Lovely looking game and it's great to see a FRW action. Your chalet is great!

I hadn't realized there was fighting between the French and the cantons. What sources do you use?
Cheers

Really nicely done report. It's good to see one of the 'sideshows' being gamed.

Glad you like my report, thank you all for your kind words.

There is an entry in my blog which gives some background information about the 1798 campaign (units, uniforms etc.): http://minimaerk.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_30.html. You can find the sources I relay on at the end of the text - unfortunately all of them are in german or french, but I have found two general descriptions of the events in Switzerland 1798 in english:
http://history-switzerland.geschichte-s ... -1798.html
https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-ch/fre ... ublic.html

I also wrote a short article (in english) about the making of the "chalet" in the AAR: http://minimaerk.blogspot.com/2017/11/b ... sharp.html
