Table size for 28mm troops

Post by Darren »

Hi All,

I'm aiming to play my first game in the next month.

I will have a 1914 French and German platoon of 4 sections and 1 HMG each. This will be about 70 figures per side.

I would want space on the table to encourage movement rather going to ground and firing. What size table will work for this number of figures and to encourage movement?

Regards

I've played with that size force on a standard 6'x4' board without any problem, but obviously the larger the table you have the more room you have for manoeuvre. It also depends a lot on terrain. It helps to have covered areas of approach, especially with an HMG on the table.

Thanks John.

I may need to rethink using the HMGs

In using the scenarios for the Western Front that come with Empire To Revolution, wondering what sized table for these with use of 28mm?
