Dux Day

Post by Old Guy » Thu Sep 26, 2013 8:58 pm

My son turned up this morning and I expected to fight one last battle before my last citadel fell. We ended up having a raid where my Levy covered themselves in glory, albeit I lost. We then had a battle, which I expected to lose, and did lose but inflicted such high casualties on the Saxons they voluntarily lifted their siege. This gave us another battle, this time it looked like I would win, but I didn't, so my capital is now suffering its third siege. Oh, and twice I annoyed the gods and fought with only four cards and a Level Two leader!

I had hoped to fight some of the new scenarios I have added to my Book of Raids, but never got around to it.

Despite the frustrations a great day's gaming and some memorable battles. And still the campaign continues, and has now reached its fifth year.

Sounds like you must be some terribly naughty chap, annoying the gods so much!

I really like the feeling of a passing of time you get with the campaign. It really ties in with the accounts of Nennius and Gildas.
