DB - The Chain of Command

Post by T13A » Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:09 pm

Hi
I’m new to Dux Britanniarum so please bear with me!
In the player notes, downloaded from the TFL website (http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=1075#), it says, “divide up your forces between your Nobles so they have someone to command them”, and “When a Noble’s card is dealt he can activate the Groups or Formations under his control (my emphasis)”. I take it this means that groups should be allocated to a specific Lord or leader before the game starts.
The problem I’m having is that I cannot find anything in the rule book (or in a Q&A sheet I downloaded from I know not where) about having to doing this.
So, is that the way that the rules are meant to be played and is that actually how players do it? Or are the 'player notes' simply disregarded?
Many thanks.

Cheers Paul

No, that's exactly how it's meant to be played.

Having had a good trawl through the rulebook I see your point though - added to the 'things to clarify in the Compendium' list.

I am sure I am being stupid here, but No to what?
The game is meant to be played how?
Are units allocated to individual noble at the start of the game? Yes/No?

Sorry to be thick!

Yes.
Units are allocated to individual Nobles to command at the start of the game normally. The Lord can command any unit including temporarily superseding the Noble in command. Some units are activated on their own card depending on the force concerned.

Oops. "No, the player notes should not be disregarded".

Note to self, type AFTER morning coffee, then the words join up properly :D
