Taking the Italians for a spin in Chain of Command

Post by BasinisBACK »

I've not seen the Italians feature in a Chain of Command AAR before, so here's a tale of my first outing with their unusual platoon structure. Apologies for the atrocious quality of the photos.

Good games.

I played the Italians in my first ever CoC game at "Come and have a go if you think you're Lard enough" in Southampton last March - and won! Did the same in the afternoon session playing the Italians in a Malta-themed Bag The Hun (also my first game). Two wins in a day - equally rare for me and the Italians, but most likely beginner's luck for me!!!

Also, a little historical note relating to your last "tag" - benefit of clergy. The law was used to prevent almost all of the British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre of 1770 from being punished!
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

I just finished up my core Italian platoon for CoC and will be taking them for a spin soon.

The Italians are great, using the original list they are a big clunking fist. I played a solo game with my Italians recently (https://toofatlardies.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 20&t=12614) and changed the MMG's to automatic rifles (changing the points costs) - I think this small change gives a much more historical feel to them and adds to your stress as a commander.
