Very nice - an unusual subject.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
Living on an island group in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the inhabitants of the Woebetides are going to have plenty of use for ships and boats. My first larger vessel is this merchantman.
It was originally a Spongebob Squarepants toy pirate ship. I waterlined it, removed lots of overscale parts, built up the quarterdeck from plastic card, decked it out with coffee stirrers and added masts from paintbrush handles and a chopstick! The ship's wheel and the anchors are from Games of War.
Rigging is a mixture of elastic thread and heavyweight linen sewing thread. It was a trade-off between strengthening the finished model and allowing easy access for figures.
I'm working on a large number of potential scenarios. Some will use ships merely as deployment points but I envisage the possibility of some manoeuvring and bombardment. Who knows, maybe even ship-to-ship combat!

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
Richard Phillips (aka Fieldsway Scenics Commission Painting) is also working on terrain items for the Woebetides. As I'm currently part way through building a Hindoo temple and don't have any new pics to show, I thought I'd share some of Richard's.
Below is a meeting area for Richard's Woebetideus of the Vulture tribe. Based on a CD with Scotia/Grendel benches, fire pit from gravel and a Chinese eBay palm tree:
Also from embay was Monkey tribe totem:
More to follow.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
The Woebetides weekend will feature a number of situations that lead to the kind of actions that you'd expect to see in a conventional, one-off Sharp Practice scenario. However, I'm also planning on something of a treasure hunt with player forces wandering the island looking for clues. These will be achieved by way of "Plot Points" - a concept I've stolen from the excellent Pulp Alley game.
This is the latest Plot Point:
One of the more conventional scenarios may involve the coastal battery the French are constructing on Petit Woebetide. Here's the battery's magazine:

Some really nice terrain pieces here. The ship was a good find and looks fantastic.
