Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
I'm working towards a big, multi-player campaign day in early 2021 (or perhaps 2121 if the Covid crisis continues) and I thought I'd post some picks of the dedicated terrain features here as they progress.
I've made some wide river sections and a wooden bridge to cross them. The bridge is made from thin wood and sections of those small, square-section bamboo skewers with handles on the end.
The other recent civil engineering project was a tired, old rope bridge between two crags.
The structure is made from scraps of card on a length of chicken-wire! A couple of rare earth magnets hold it in place. The dhows were built using the plans available from General Tremorden Redderring's Colonial warfare page. The longboats are made from card and foamcore.
More toys as I get them built and photographed.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
The 2'x2' terrain boards I use for Woebetides and Mexico games are OK but the joins between the boards can be a bit obvious so I decided to have a go at making some scatter pieces to disguise them.
They're made with offcuts of the PVC board I've started using for all of my terrain projects. The edges can be chamfered easily with a craft knife. I then add coloured tile grout as a ground surface, paint, dry-brush, and add tufts and flock.
I've also made a first batch of elephant grass. This time I made the bases from artist's mounting board and hot-glued on bristles from a yard brush before adding the same tile grout base texture and painting. It's not too obvious from the photo but the bristles are left brown at the bottom but transition to green as you go up.

You are working hard on this "2021" campaign weekend terrain, some good pieces.
Will earth magnets hold in place if metal figures get placed on the rope bridge?
Look forward to seeing more of your fruits of labour.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
The rope bridge was created give opportunities for individual acts of derring do by Leaders. In game it will only bear the weight of one man at a time - and requires an "act of derring do" roll to cross successfully. And yes, testing shows that it will hold a single, white metal figure comfortably.
Sorry to hear you've deserted the Socialist Republic. Where have you moved to?

Richard
I am retired to the coast of North Yorkshire. I hope to get more gaming and hobby related stuff done. So far its mostly solo due to covid19!!
Retired at end of September, 2019, moved house in January and again in February 2020, then lockdown .... just finishing work on new home to provide space for hobby stuff.
Hope you get to run Crisis Point in 2021.
As noted elsewhere on this website, not much certainty currently except covid19 has not gone away, but lurking!
Keep the terrain reports coming.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
The latest terrain for the Woebetides is this eyot, which will appear in one of the islands' rivers.
It's built on PVC board base with a single thickness of foam-core glued to it. Both are chamfered down to give a thin edge where sand meets water. I've added a couple stones from our garden path and a skim of tile grout.
The tufts are there partly to disguise a surprise buried on the island:
This chained coffin is from Wyrd Games' Malifaux range. I'll not reveal the contents here as it needs to be a surprise to the players.

Another lovely piece, bit harder to take in detail in photos, but interesting pieces to keep us all guessing.

Re: Terrain for the Woebetide Islands
Inspired by Mr Clarke's foray into anti-slavery operations with Viva Ras Begus, I've gone and built my own barracoon (or slave barracks).
The walls are made from material salvaged from a wicker basket that was otherwise to be thrown out. The roof is sculpted from Milliput.
Next to the hut is a pile of weapons taken from captured Woebetideus natives (and a wine bottle sculpted from Green Stuff). Using bits left over from creating my Woebetideus force for Sharp Practice, and some spare American militia, I've created a group of escaped captives who've armed themselves from this pile before making off inland to try and get back to civilisation.
I might have one of our younger players run these guys. They'll have to complete certain tasks to make their way back to safety. I'll probably add another figure to bring them up to Irregular Skirmisher strength.
