Some Big Chain of Command happened.

Because two platoons a side had been committed the German company commander sent in the HMGs, two teams, one of which we see below, and they denied me any chance of taking the offensive.

The above crowd of hoo ray henries advanced through the town (on their right flank) with great drive and destroyed the section they found outside, then the next one, thus capturing my JoP. However, they were then met by:

And thanks to some luck and command initiatives and smoke I managed to turn the hellish bayonet battle to my advantage, winning the game with both sides down to one force morale.

Those 8th army and Afrika Korps models are some of the finest Airfix ever made, pretty much a whole platoon in a single box.You've done a great job with them. I also like the old-school wargaming touch of the patterned tablecloth!
