1/72 cheapo efforts

Post by B. Wren » Tue Nov 26, 2019 3:07 pm

Hullo chaps,

If I've got the forum software to work these should be pictures of my doings with 1/72 airfix etc models. We're doing Cyrenaica, famous for its green, cross hatched deserts. A better tablecloth is in the works.

Nice painting.
I got my desert cloth from a haberdashery - artificial velvet -came in a nice sandy colour and drapes over hills nicely.
Cheap too 😉

Classic! Airfix infantry and a variety of models. Love it. Very Operation Warboard.

Thanks chaps. I was doing 15mm ancients until recently and the sharp descent in cost from that to 1/72 ww2 is wonderful.

Looks like a Universal Carrier slipped on one of those infamous Cyrenaica desert lines.

When he is at the shop getting the cloth he can pick up a bag of cusion stuffing- with a bit of grey paint makes great smoke!

Oh we've got plenty smoke. I made it out of pan scourers with strings of pulled cotton wool stuck on, on the basis that I seem to get infinite smoke out of the mortar so I might as well capitalise. Anything to counter that 2:1 machine gun ratio.
