Junior leaders for WWI Late war british

Post by mellett68 » Fri Nov 08, 2019 10:49 am

I've picked up some Great War Miniatures late war British to use with Chain of Command and the xmas special great war rules. They're spot on for what I want but the Officers and NCOs pack only has officers (obviously) and sergeants. That's more than enough to sort out my platoon HQ but each section needs Corporal to be the junior leader.

The question is: can I just take a rifleman and model or paint a chevron on his sleeve to represent that properly or are there specific miniatures I should be looking out for? I could use sergeants and remove two of their chevrons I suppose, but there's only two poses so it'd be nice to vary it a little.

I would just paint on the stripes. ,
Corperals usually just carried rifles and were in same gear as privates apart from the chevrons

Did your auto correct do that to gas mask or is there a regimental history we need to read? 😁

Both parents' ancestors were in the Irish Guards - they were a rum lot by all accounts.

That's what I'd figured. I think I'll go down the paint route in that case.

Thanks!
