Is Anyone Still Playing Lardie Card Rules?

Post by John Thomas8 »

I saw a Dux question today, but outside of that there's not much traffic I've noticed for actual card turning Lardie goodness. Personally, I'm basing up a bunch of cav and arty to run a massively silly LFS game, getting back on track to do Antietam with Elephant, and writing a Kokoda Track campaign for TW&T since I have a painted up company of PIB infantry.

Anyone else playing "classic" Lardie?

:D :D :D

John,
Have you tried Sharp Practice 2 yet since it would seem to meet the definition of a "classic" Lardie card driven game even if many of us prefer to draw chips rather than fail to shuffle cards? :D

"If the Lord Spares Us" and "Kiss Me Hardy" are two of my favourite "classic" Lardie games.

Played Charlie Don't Surf last Sunday, just finishing off a Soviet '43 Rifle company to play some IABSM, and planning to give TW&T a go with CoC forces.

Lardie card games are still alive and well with me.

I feel that this is an aspect of the "ooh, shiny" syndrome. Folk stop playing older games because they feel they're ain't "supported" or are simply old.

I've got Dux rules, figures and cards just waiting to be played.. but so many other things as well.
As for traffic on the forums - most of the questions are about new sets where the rules haven't had time to be fully absorbed.
