Hi all,
Is the .50 on an M113 still considered a machinegun squad (3+1 dice) or a normal squad (3 dice)?? +1 only for LMG's??
cheers
Dirk

Hi Dirk,
It’s neither. It’s an AFV mounted HMG which uses the rules in 9.1.1 and fires as if it was a tripod mounted HMG as per 7.5.1.

Hi John,
7.5.1 says that they shoot with the same number of Action dice as a full squad. In this example they are a machine gun squad - squad gets an extra die when firing above it's basic 3 dice. Does the HMG get 4 dice or 3 dice when firing?
cheers

Hi Dirk,
It fires with the same dice as the squad occupying the vehicle. So if it’s an 8 man MG squad in the M113, which is usually the case in an ACAV unit, it will roll 4 dice. Assuming the vehicle hasn’t moved.
