Hi Dirk,
See 5.1, a blind can represent a platoon or smaller unit. You do not need to deploy the VC defenders as a single platoon. You could deploy them as single rifle squads hidden in different terrain which I believe is what Gavin is referring to. Makes it harder for the VC Big Man to control and influence them though.

Hi all,
Still looking for an answer about the deployment of the platoon. Ik you use hidden movement and you start moving how do you handle blinds? Hidden unit that fires generates a fire marker but can then move away and become a blind. How do you handle this when your squads are not grouped together,,
Cheers

Hi Dirk,
You simply place a Blind to represent the squad which has moved. As I said above a blind need not represent a platoon, you can use them for smaller discrete units too.

Re: surf's up sniper
Hi John and Gavin,
Yesterday we tried deploying across the board and not within a given distance from a blind. We immediately ran into trouble as the squads having fired wanted to move away - in order to set a new ambush - and we didn't know what to do with the blinds. In the end we opted that the VC could use as many blinds as he had at the beginning of the game, converting dummy blinds into blinds with only one squad.
Any thoughts on how to handle this?
cheers

Hi Dirk,
The VC player is not restricted to starting the game with only one blind per platoon. If he chooses to deploy hidden in different locations across the board then give him a number of blinds equal to the number of squads he has plus some dummies and take it from there I’d suggest.

Hi John,
We'll play it like that. Rules and scenario's say something different, hence my confusion.
cheers
