how to move a sniper voluntarily

Post by dirk bracke »

Hi,

Can a sniper move voluntarily when the enemy approaches? Relocating within a certain distance or is he condemned to stay in place?

cheers

Hi Dirk,
If you reread Section 7.14 you will find that when activated a Sniper can fire, Spot or withdraw from the table. He can’t change position voluntarily.

If his skill level is high enough then he may be able to reappear elsewhere on the table later if obliged to withdraw by rolling a double when he fires.

As a player you don’t really control snipers, they appear, do their business then bug out.

Hi John,

From 7.14 comes the next phrase.
If a sniper is forced to withdraw, not simply reposition, due to rolling a
double then the Fire Marker is replaced by an Intelligence Marker.

The 'not simply reposition' confused me. The reposition will then refer to the case where the doubles are lesser or equal to the snipers level.

Cheers

Hi Dirk,
Yes exactly. Only likely to arise with any frequency with a Level 3 or 4 sniper I’d suggest.
