Achtung Spitfire! A Bag The hun campaign day

Post by AndyC » Tue Jul 16, 2019 8:03 pm

"Repeat please!"

To mark Battle of Britain Day and the 79th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, come and join us at Bristol Independent Gaming (https://www.bristolindependentgaming.co.uk) on Sunday September 15th for a day of whirling dog fights and aerial battles galore, as we play 'Bag the Hun 2'.

Sprogs and top aces are both welcome with all aircraft and other items required to play being supplied for you. The day will have a variety of missions all counting towards your squadron tally, with lots of support for players old and new, prizes for top aces and the like and all proceeds will be donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Entry will be £10 for the day, with further details to follow. If you're interested it would be great if you could register on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/403965196885521, or reply to this thread.

Don't delay, King and Country need you!

(We appreciate it's the day after Clotted Lard, but the date is too good too miss! Please feel free to pop in to come say hello even if you're not free for the whole day).

There are still a few spaces left at our inaugural Bag the Hun day!

Please send £10 via PayPal to BIGbagthehun@gmail.com to secure your place. (using friends and family please, unless you want to give Paypal a 10% tip in which case send £11 using business!) Please include your name and the name of anyone else you're paying for in the notes! To be transparent, your fee covers the cost of the venue (75%) and a small charitable donation to the RAF Benevolent Fund (25%).

We're planning to run 2 games during the day, rough timings 10:30 - 13:00, a break for lunch and 14:00 - 17:30. For those who haven't been to BIG before, there is a excellent hobby shop on site and you can buy hot and cold drinks and a selection of snacks at reception. There is a McDonalds and Subway close by for those seeking a larger lunch option, but you might want to bring a sandwich.

Please do spread the word with your friends. We're expecting several people who've never played Bag the Hun before, so everyone from the freshest sprog to the most seasoned ace is very welcome!

This was a superb day, and big thanks to AndyC for running the games and teaching a bunch of us sprogs how to stay up in the air and point the guns in the right direction (even if they did jam on the long bursts). A really great time and another convert to Bag the Hun. BIG (Bristol Independent Gaming) was a great venue too, and it was well worth my trip from just over the border in Wales. Thanks once again, and thanks too from Jonah, Barndoor, and Compass (who are relieved to have made two flights without a scratch... despite Jonah crash-landing without firing his guns in the big scramble to stop the Hun blowing up the Spitfire factory). :-)
