Re: two questions regarding cavalry

On the second question, I think one has to assume a "turn" is sort of an ongoing thing, some units taking longer than others to do their two actions. The rule on charging Cav is: "A cavalry Group or Formation that is moving towards the enemy at the trot or gallop may, if they are not activated durin...

Re: Fondler's Surprise scenario AAR

Love the Rockets. They are pretty much useless, but can provide a lot of fun. Did a convention game with them back in 2009 with much the same results as in this game. If interested, look here: http://sharppractice.fr.yuku.com/topic/106#.VLBnnnv-VVY

Re: Grasp the nettle

I stand corrected. I found Richards reply on the FAQ in the NapSkirmish Yahoo Group. After some searching I found the original question and answer on the TwoFatLardies Group. Message 67066Re: SP - some simple questions Q. On the turn of Tiffin card do any UNUSED GTN/GTS cards gets dealt back into pa...

Re: Grasp the nettle

The latter. From page 5 of Rules: "Once dealt they are left in play, ready to be used by any subsequent Big Men of that Status level or above when his card is dealt."

Re: Just a quick intro...

Have been thinking of using one of this sets rules for Boxer Rebellion period. I have Sharp Practice and it could be adapted, but thought one of these would work better. Any recommendations of which one would be best? From what I can tell from the reviews, Triumph of Will might work.

Re: Sharp Practice Card ?

Alain Lausard of Bonaparte's Horsemen series by Richard Howard is the only French equivalent of the Richard Sharpe series I know of, but sadly it is not of the same quality as Bernard Cornwell's writing. You would think some enterprising writer would want to emulate the success of the Sharpe series ...

Re: Sharp Practice Card ?

Our Group found the Random Event table clunky to use and have instead inserted a Bonus Card in the Action Deck. When it comes up the player who had the immediately previous action(or subsequent, however you want to play it) gets to draw a card from the Bonus Deck. There is also no reason you couldn'...

Movement to Fisticuffs

I've got a Group of 6 riflemen who are directed to charge a Group of Dismounted Dragoons in a lightly wooded area. The Riflemen roll 2 dice adding a pip per dice for being in Skirmish Order and get a total of a whopping 6 inches. This is enough for about half the riflemen to contact, with the other ...

Re: Big Man casualties in Fisticuffs

I must admit that the tosser who wrote the rules didn't make that very clear. When I find him I'll kick his arse! Yes, Richard when you find him, kick him in the arse for me for making a set of rules so good, I can't play enough of it. Thanks for taking the time to answer the post. As usual the sim...
