Timing of Rally\Refom

Hi This came up in game. If a Retreating/Routing unit is in a Brigade that Obey Orders rules state unit Rallies but also that this occurs in Move Phase (just like reforming from Unformed) However if the unit is target of a charge in Charge phase does it count as Rallied or still Retreating/Routed ? ...

Re: Column of Mob ??

Hi yes that is how we reasoned things to occur but might need defined as such in rules ie does or does not count as a Column for purposes of Charge modifiers etc

Column of Mob ??

Hi When units retire or retreat rules state they become 'column of mob', what exactly is this and how do you show it on table ? In game today I had a Brigade suffer a Retire outcome on Faltering table. The units started in various formations Line, Attack Column and Square so we were unsure how they ...

Re: Query re Retreats and Retires and table edge

Hi Dave

That is what came up with for Retreats and Retires the 'one last chance'.
Just was jarring in the scn for such units to essentially suffer a Rout effect when not beaten too badly.
All 'edge of the world' effects of wargame tables need some abstraction.

Re: Hills

Hi Dave Thanks for design thoughts certainly different as you say to most rules. I think I can accept as unless a slope is steep(ish) they do not seem to feature in battle accounts. Do think I would cancel bounce through if firing uphill which would be a significant benefit and a fairly good reason ...

Hills

Hi

Another that came up in todays game.

No benefit we could discern for defending a hill (except Steep Slopes) ?

Re: Query re Retreats and Retires and table edge

HI John

Yes just seems very harsh for non-Routers. Sort of means defenders have to advance so as not liable to such Dispersion.

Query re Retreats and Retires and table edge

Hi One which came up whilst playing the scn in rules today. When units Retreat do they retreat off table if within Retreat distance.or do they stop at table edge ? We played that they stopped at edge allowing a chance to recover if orders obeyed next turn. We feel that Routers would go straight off ...
