Re: WW2 North Africa tank colours 1940/41
Hi Simon, I have a 15mm British Amroured Sqn with A9, A10 and A13 cruiser tanks. I used a black base with Vallejo dark sand applied as a single top coat. I used Vallejo grey/green and blue/grey for the Cautner camo scheme. I spray the base coat and dry brushed the single top and the camo scheme. I d...

Re: When to add command Initiative cards to the deck?
Thanks John. I always appreciate hearing your views. Using the example from my first email, the first unit deployed was a German infantry section with a Lv2 big man. Next time, rather than adding all the Initiative cards I will add the Lv 1&2 cards only. With the Lv3 cards being added when the relev...

When to add command Initiative cards to the deck?
Hi All, When to add the command Initiative cards to the deck came up in our first game. The rules don't specify when this happens. What we did was to add all the cammand card for the relevant side, when the the first unit came off blinds. For example, the Germans were the first to have a unit come o...

Re: Australian Matilda tank colour in Pacific Theater?
That's a very good question. I used Vallejo Russian uniform dry brushed over a black base coat. I then applied a weathering coat of Russian uniform mixed with white. I don't use any particular mixing ratio for the weathering coat. My aim is to have my vehicles look like they have been in the field f...

WW1 Cavalry fire arms
Hi All, I'm planning to include French and German Cavalry for my 1914 games. I've read conflicting articles stating that both French and German Cavalry were armed with carbines and not rifles. I've also read that one of the reasons that French cavalry were reluctant to dis-mount was that they didn't...

First game of M&B
Hi All, Played our first game today. One French and one German platoon in 1914, on 6x8 table. The object was to control a bridge. It was a stunning victory for the French. The Germans rolled badly while on blinds and struggled to get close to the bridge. We used the "En Avant" card to reflect the Fr...

Command Initiative cards, 1914 French
Hi All, The following is the French Infantry Platoon organisation for 1914. It took me awhile to get my head around that they called their platoons, sections. And then divide the section into half sections and then squads. Section (2 half-sections) Commanded by 1 lieutenant (or second lieutenant) an...
