Re: 29, Let's Go! campaign (updated 26 07 20)

This particular campaign is rough in that the Americans can afford to take horrendous casualties on any particular table because they know they get a fresh, full-strength platoon for the next go. Some aggregate of the Mens' Opinion should probably be tracked for this game, as if it becomes too much ...

Re: Shock on Armoured Vehicle

you could I guess make it closer to infantry fire and reduce the number of dice but keep the to hit roll the same This is how I'd do it - drop [-1 dice / 2 Shock] when firing on infantry (with either an MG or with HE), apply the [-1 mod/Shock] when firing AT. AT and grenades are the only firing rol...

Re: 29, Let's Go! campaign (updated 26 07 20)

We've taken to just straight up incorporating the rules for bunkers and fortifications as a "continuum of cover." In hard cover and also pinned? You count as being in a bunker (ignore the first kill). It seems to work really well, and keeps pinned squads from being quite as much of a liability for b...

Re: Entrenchments from a previous battle

It does generally reinforce the idea that infantry that stands still for any length of time will heavily entrench their position, making themselves hard and harder to dislodge. :)

Re: Entrenchments from a previous battle

So long as you haven't fought a battle on a different board in-between, we generally say yes.

Re: Cavalry base sizes?

(*I really, really don't like the 'doorstep' look of most sabots) I'm glad I'm not the only one. ;) FWIW, I try to use materials to make my sabots as thin as possible. Generally, this is a vinyl magnetic sheet for the base (I put all of my minis on fender washers) and heavyweight cardstock for the ...

Re: First Game Questions

Leaders never carry Shock. The way we generally handle units breaking is as follows: 1) A Junior Leader will always stay with his unit, so if his unit breaks and heads for the rear, he goes with them. 2) If a Senior Leader is within 4" of only a single unit and that unit breaks, the Senior Leader wi...

Re: First Game Questions

Finally tried my first game and I had a few questions which I was unsure of. Welcome to the joy of CoC! When you move a squad X number of inches, does each one go up to that number of inches? Can you reorganize/reface while moving? You can absolutely reorganize or change facing, but as a whole the ...
