Re: Tactics

I just played a Probe tonight and while it was a bloodbath, the attackers finally pulled out a win. I hosed up during the Patrol Phase, though. AAR to follow, probably tomorrow.

Re: Tactics

Yeah, this scenario is pretty much made for scout cars.

Re: CoC AAR - Sidi Regezh, North Africa

@Iorwerth - The "At the Sharp End" supplement has great material for adding character to your, well, characters! At first it seemed a little strange to have all of that "RP stuff" in a wargame, but I found it really adds a lot to the game. And it certainly makes writing AARs a lot of fun. @ Seret - ...

I know others have said it before, but your jungle terrain boards are freaking GORGEOUS. Seriously, your stuff is inspirational.

Re: CoC AAR - Sidi Regezh, North Africa

Turn 1, Phase 1 (British): 65532 Biding their time, the Tommies deployed a single section behind the leeward face of a low dune, their corporal placing both the rifle team and Bren team on overwatch (I’ve seen conflicting opinions on whether or not this is allowed during deployment, but it makes sen...

CoC AAR - Sidi Regezh, North Africa

Recently, I was introduced to Chain of Command. I am a huge history buff, and while I have resisted historical wargaming (beyond dabbling ever so slightly in 15mm American Civil War) because I knew it would be a bottomless rabbit-hole of compulsive madness for me, I was so impressed with the elegant...

Re: 15mm basing advice for Uk Coins + other stuff

Yeah, even playing by myself and stopping frequently to reference the rules I managed to knock out a Patrol mission in around 3 hours. Demoing the game to friends last weekend, we did it in a little over 2 (and though we called it early when one of the players had to leave, the game was pretty close...

Re: 15mm basing advice for Uk Coins + other stuff

Ditto Seret 's recommendation of At The Sharp End. Your first engagement might be at full strength, but after that you're usually working with an understrength platoon, in some cases drastically so. I'll post an AAR tomorrow or Friday from a Patrol scenario that left an Afrika Korps Schutzen Platoon...

Re: Night Fighting

I like that approach. It's simple but gets the point across.
