Re: Indian Army in N Africa/Malaya, 1940/1941

In 1941-1942 at least, the anti-tank, light AA and artillery regiments serving with the 4th Indian Division were British under the umbrella Royal Artillery. I don't know about the Indian divisions in Malaya or later in Burma-I'm working on the 4th in North Africa and Tunisia.

Re: Gegbirgsjäger/Highlanders

I recall from years ago that the highland regiments put their kilts in storage prior to going on active service. Highland troops would have been organized like English troops. Kilted pipers were arranged by wealthy officers or the men of officers mess. For example, Bill Millen was Lord Lovat's perso...

Levy Monks

I am interested in the 9th century interactions between the Carolingians and Viking raiders (hey a raider is a raider). On the theory that's where the money is, the Vikings raided the monasteries. My question is: did the monks in the monasteries of Neustria turn out as levy? And did the monasteries ...

Re: CoC: Fighting Season Playtesting?

Along the same lines, is the CoC variant covering the First Indo-China War on the horizon? Perhaps Easter 2020?

Re: Establishing Character Backgrounds for French

OK, so they lost to the U.S. So did England. Here are some names from the Mens' side, the current holders of the World Cup: Deschamps, Lloris, Pavard, Digne, Griezman, Giroud

Re: Establishing Character Backgrounds for French

I'm going to get snippy for a minute. As a Francophile, I take issue at names like "camembert" or "gruyere". Here are some names from Jean Larteguy's novels: Major de Glatigny (of distinguished military heritage), Captains Esclavier, Boisfeuras, Lieutenants Merle, Pinieres, Orsini (Corsican) From th...

Re: Japanese Army List for the time past 1942

I am certainly not an expert on the IJA. But I found this article interesting: https://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/wwii/articles/papua.aspx The article portrays the Japanese army as being unprepared for jungle combat. The author states "Command decisions, not the fighting effectiveness of individu...

Re: Serbian Army 1914

Well, 10% of the entire Serbian population died during 1914-1918. The Serbian army First Ban stood off the Austrians. I would suggest that they are stubborn and aggressive. As for Support options... Per a machine gun. Perhaps some of the Support options in SP2 would be relevant. "Phyysik", an Orthod...

Re: Japanese Army List for the time past 1942

When I was looking into at the 41st Infantry Division, I got curious about the opposition. So I found :thehttp://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Japanese-List-1941-2.pdf

Hope this helps/

Re: WORLD WAR 2 ANTI-TANK RIFLES

Here's a minor point of curiosity. In the Blitzkrieg book, only the SS and the fallschirmjaegers can pick an anti-tank rifle as a support option. The Wehrmacht is out of luck. But what of IR Gross Deutschland? Did they rate ATR's? TIA
