Re: Non aggressive FALLSCHIRMJÄGERs?

It's worth taking a look at the latest Anthony Beevor, Ardennes 1944, to see where the FJ had got by the end of the war. He describes them as poorly trained, not particularly effective, but possessed of some rather unpleasant ideology about their own superiority. His description of the attempts to l...

Re: Planning some 28mm 1943 Italy action. Advice?

I see the new Perry Miniatures German greens are up on the work bench page https://www.perry-miniatures.com/pages.php?page=metalsworkbench&osCsid=66o8tjc64gh4058fbetug6hjk5 I'm told the aim is to have a range of German paras available for Tunisia and Italy, as well as some other new packs on the way...

Graham,
thanks for that - will check out Italeri buildings. May even get my camera out once I've got something to show!

BTW to those who suggested the CoC tutorials on YouTube many thanks, I've watched them all now, really useful.

Re: Planning some 28mm 1943 Italy action. Advice?

Thanks for tips on fitting in the Warlord guys. You asked about interest in Italy. I've done quite a bit of WW2 15mm gaming at the battalion scale with Battle Group Panzer Grenadier rules and did some games like Gela and Primasole bridge from the Sicily campaign. I've still got quite decent 15mm col...

Re: Planning some 28mm 1943 Italy action. Advice?

Good to hear from you @j4y8 ! You've given me some very useful pointers there, thank you. I'm not averse to some conversion and noticed yesterday for example on the CompanyB website that they sell loose PIAT launchers, which got me thinking... I just ordered a pack of Brit combat engineers from Warl...

Re: Planning some 28mm 1943 Italy action. Advice?

Many thanks to all of you - a wealth of useful replies showing that the Lardy scene deserves its friendly reputation :D @Trotter: I like that idea of a three man base with removable casualties. But equally I might try some of the other suggestions of two figures with the weapon and the rest singly. ...

Planning some 28mm 1943 Italy action. Advice?

Peeps, just gearing up with some forces based on the Perry DAK and 8th Army figures (nb the trouser wearing Brits) and would appreciate some tips. 1. Basing, yes singly I know. But characters like MMG team or prone LMG team where you've got a No2 miniature loading, another spotting etc, do you guys ...
