Re: Predesignate actions or not?

The gamer in me says you can decide the 2nd action after the first; the historian in me thinks the leader would give an order such as "fire and reload" or "fire and advance" etc. I have played it such that if the order was say to advance to the wall and fire. and the unit falls short then the second...

My query is the BEF squad size. Corporal, 3 man bren team and seven riflemen? I thought the standard org in 1940 was 10 men?
It’s 11 men per section in the Blitzkrieg Handbook for the 1940 Regulation Platoon (exactly as detailed above) and 8 in the 1939 Platoon.

Assume this must be correct.

Re: Replacement Leader

If they're still a mob then he can still command them as a mob. If they are no longer a mob or Formation then yes, they will either need another leader to activate them or they can activate on a Sign card after the TF. Remember a Leader can activate the group as long as it's within his influence ran...

Re: Conforming - and mobs

If they both hit, then they both fight and add all their dice together against the defenders dice.

The are a few reasons they may chose not to do this depending on the different quality of the attacking groups, their levels of shock/casualties or the potential to be attacked next etc.

Re: Great Game by the way!

There are lots of subtleties and nuances to master with II occasioned by the asymmetric and very different styles of fighting of the disciplined, formal Romans against the wild and aggressive barbarians. As ever the key to victory is effectively utilising your forces USP whilst minimising your foes....

Re: Conforming - and mobs

The rules are very subtle and nuanced. To a degree this is due to the completely different fighting styles of the disciplined Romans and the raw aggressiveness of the barbarians. The skill is maximising the USP of your force while minimising the USP of your foe! A bit like draughts it can be a simpl...

Re: Conforming - and mobs

The defender only chooses who conforms to who, when it is one group attacking one group. 1. This is covered by 7.2.5 on page 55. Looking at the picture where X&Y are attacking Group A, they can chose one of 3 options on the combat (i) both X&Y can contact A and both fight (ii) X can contact with Y i...

Re: Replacement Leader

As you correctly say, as per 7.6.7 a killed leader is replaced by a Supra Numerum Leader (one of the boys!).

This SN Leader can still command the Mob or Formation as detailed by 3.1.2 on page 39 to move, shoot and fight when activated = he’ll need Signa Cards for everything else!

Re: Leaving the Table - or not!

1. A group does not leave the table by evading. Once it reaches the table edge it changes direction along the table edge to the limit of it’s movement. This was also covered in the FAQ. https://lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/Infamy-Errata-and-FAQs%20-%20Sept%202020.pdf?token=AWyXy58qo4quJHNDxgAdXKITQjNzw6...

Re: Support from the Side

Effectively to provide support, a group must be either in corner to corner contact or to the rear of the group fighting as highlighted in 7.1 (p53). As shown in 7.2.6 on page 56, Group V, even though in edge to edge contact with Group W, doesn’t provide support as it is too far forward. So the answe...
