Re: Drill

Don't think we have ever used Drill, but Step Out has been used several times. Sharp Practice is probably the one most used(besides removing Shock)and Crashing Volley. Have seen Pas de Charge used to good effect a couple of times. Thin Red Line I've seen maybe once. I never seem to get the Command F...

Re: Crossing Obstacle & Light Infantry

If its high enough that you would have to climb over it rather than just sort of straddle over it, then it's a High Obstacle. A 6 ft wall in my opinion would be High. Even 4 ft is pushing it for a Low Obstacle. I would think 3 Ft is about the Limit for a Low Obstacle.

Re: Question on Rockets

In Sharp Practice 1st Edition they hit om a 4,5 or 6 so although it doesn't say in SP v2 or the FAQ, I would assume it's the same and say its "Close Range" rather than "Effective". Also in SP1 any Shock was doubled and any Formation is Broken. Barring any Official response, You should feel free to i...

Re: SP2 - too static?

All good comments above, but I understand your concern. Having put on several games at conventions, I have seen that novice SP players do tend to sit back and fire at each other, they being too timid to try anything else. I have long felt that morale rules in games are un-neccessary as players tend ...

Re: Ok another newbie question,

A Musician at one Point is a good Support Option to give a +1 when rolling to cease Uncontrolled Fire. Very much a "must have" for Militia Troops.

Re: Attacking a Signal Tower - Scenario ideas?

Great idea for a scenario. I'm thinking a rider comes galloping up to the signal tower. He has a message about an impending British attack on French forces that must go out or the French will suffer a terrible defeat. The message has no more than four parts each describing the location and timing of...

Re: moving into cointact

Move forward with one action so now you should be within visibility range. Now charge into contact with your remaining action. Or just assume that's what is being done and roll two dice as suggested by Captain Reid. Second way is quicker and easier. First way avoids conflict with those "Rules Lawyer...

Re: Rescue Mission

Well in this case it was a small building, a log cabin with one door in front and one window in the back. The eight guards and one prisoner barely fit inside. So in this case one could probably rule they would surrender or you could assume the attackers got inside and then fought another melee next ...
