Re: Infantry in half tracks, MG use

Posting a reminder from John Ewing who notes: "Dan, remember to credit them to Robert Avery since I’ve just paraphrased the approach he recommends in Bashnya or Bust."

Re: Infantry in half tracks, MG use

Here is the answer I got from John Ewing on IABSM facebook page: You have to keep in mind that the 252/1 is an armoured transport, a battle taxi, not an Infantry Fighting Vehicle in the modern sense. Most Panzergrenadiers used it to get were they needed to be then dismounted to go into action. On th...

Re: Infantry in half tracks, MG use

Thanks for that suggestion. But I don't have that because I don't do Russian front. That being said, can you can still offer me some guidance? I have been a good lardy boy...I've bought several scenario books and specials over the years...

Infantry in half tracks, MG use

Getting ready to play one of the two Battle of the Bulge Scenarios from the 2005 Summer or Xmas Special. Both scenarios are heavy with German PzGrenadiers in Sdkfz 251/1. What's the best way to handle squads in halftracks especially the two MG42s, one in front and the one in the back with the swingi...

Re: Modifiers to Spotting, confusion

Hi Jim: Be great if you can add this comment to the thread on the IABSM Facebook page that I started.

better yet if you can find the old FAQ or Chairman thoughts even better.

Thanks, Dan

Modifiers to Spotting, confusion

Hi folks: I'm really confused by this modifier in the Spotting section 3.2 (page 28) "add +1" to attempt to spot role if target fired this turn." Why would you need to try and spot this unit at all? Once it opens fire, it is placed on the table...right? Section 2.1, page 22, clearly states: Blinds a...

Re: armor rules?

First, the index.........unfortunately one does not exist. The rules (cf. page 4) only deal with modifiers on the To Hit and then if you hit, the firer rolls X number of Weapon Strike dice while the defender rolls Y number of Armour Value dice....then you compare #s of fives and sixes then you look ...

Re: Total Noob question

And remember, once a unit gets spotted or fires, since it is now therefore "off the blind", its card goes in the deck at the end of the turn so it has a chance of being drawn in the next turn.

Re: Forward observer question

This seems odd. A BM or FO or individual squad can spot while on a Blind...........and not reveal itself..........but if they do the same to call in Indirect Fire and pick up a telephone.......then they do get placed on the table????' Doesn't seem right? Possible compromise would be that: -if the Bl...
