Re: 1940 Dutch Farm Fields

This is one of the great things about historical wargaming. You become knowledgeable in things youd never have thought about otherwise.

Re: German Pioneers 1940

The engineering teams in COC make no sense. Any in combat engineering task required/requires heavy support parties. A wire cutting party tasked in combat would require at least 2 full sections as cover. And as said above by GEBHK the idea of infantry section being unable to defeat wire that three me...

Re: Colour Pictures of British Infantry & Tanks

Thanks for these. Yes it was blancoed and in different shades. There is little record of which units used which shades though.! A lot of painters and references use surplus webbing from which the blanco has gone, as a reference. Some RM Commando units used black boot polish instead of blanco. A prac...

Re: Share your favourite house rules

Pretty much RAW. I try to keep it simple ASAP. For my own games some slight small arms changes. And dont allow some Sections/Gruppes to split into teams. And Ive scrapped on table Mortar barrages. Unless you play on a giant table and the enemy is 90" (300m) away in COC ground scale you shouldnt be d...

Re: HE vs Bunkers

The persistent bunkers on DDay were mostly only eventually silenced by close in destroyer fire. Despite all the stuff on the beaches designed to do so. Most are silenced viea...

Re: Effects of shock on infantry carrier and passengers

Yep the driver was very much part of the gruppe. Along with the Beifaher who mans the forward MG they man the HT. So in COC are they a seperate team? But if the gruppe hasnt split? Im a little tired of the German HT left off table argument. The manuals stressed the advantages of the HT, it was armou...

Re: How many of my squad can fire, or how many figs per cm of front?

It comes down to how much friction you want in your game. Some players seem to get upset that they cant bring all weapons to shoot. In reality if you manage to get your squad into an even skirmish line with a 5 metre interval each will have a different field of fire depending on the terrain between ...

Re: Von luck and Lorraine schlepper

Theres no special rules for the Belgian Carden Lloyd frc 47mm. Its a support option iin the blitzkrieg book. In reality they were used as static guns along the meuse by the Frontier Cyclists and were no longer mobile on May 10th. p35 of Blitzkrieg: "Carden Loyd mk Vi with FRC M1931 Players fielding...
