Re: What period for skirmish only gaming (2 boxes of Perry)

Thanks guys, good advice.

It doesn't have to be Perry Miniatures. I mentioned Perry because 30-40 men a side seemed good for skirmishing, plus they have an excellent reputation. I like their War of the Roses products.

What period for skirmish only gaming (2 boxes of Perry)

Hi all,

I want to get into Sharp Practice. I'm no history buff and have no "favourite period". What I do want is to buy 2 boxes of Perry miniatures and be as to have a lot of fun playing games with games at that size.

Any suggestions of period / which boxes to buy?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Starting minis: black tree design half price sale

Well I have seen that you can buy starter armies that are picked by the Lardies and supplied by Gripping Beasts. They look lovely and are probably charging an appropriate reasonable price :) However, I am on a budget and hoped to get equivalent forces and maybe a few reinforcements via the Black Tre...

Re: Starting minis: black tree design half price sale

Well I need two forces at least. I want to be able to show up and have enough for two forces so I can introduce mates without waiting for them to buy/paint a force.

I reckon it would be best to start with the forces from the basic book.

Starting minis: black tree design half price sale

Hi everybody., I am seriously considering getting into Dux. Chain of Command is the only other Lardies game that I have played. Here is the thing. I would like to buy everything I need in one hit from the 50% off Black Tree Design. The trouble is I am struggling to identify which minis I need. I wan...

Re: 1940-1942 Australians, SWPA Only

My first thought is regarding the platoon rating. +2 for Regular and +4 for Elite? That seems like a small (too small) increase in rating. Is that in line with other lists jumping from Regular to Elite? Panzer grenadier and Fallschirmjäger pay 6 points for the jump. Russian tank riders pay 4 for the...

Maschinengewehr needs two or more Command Initiative to activate. Perhaps a Senior Leader could do what you describe.

My gut says YES. It gets messy quickly to do otherwise.

Re: Chain of Command Campaign Supplement

Richard,

What is the interaction between this supplement and Platoon Forward?

I don't want to buy Platoon Forward to have it supplanted by At The Sharp End
