Re: I Ain't been Nuked, Mum!

I know nothing about the period so forgive me if these suggestions are daft, but reading these posts two thoughts occurred to me. Assuming you are sticking to the current IABSM groundscale or thereabouts : 1) Could you treat ATGMs as a form of pre-game barrage, a gauntlet of fire which armoured ass...

Re: I Ain't been Nuked, Mum!

Well, a 20 second delay would indicate a target around 3 kilometers (i.e. the maximum distance for most Cold War guided missiles). Given the ground scale of IABSM, most tables offer a maximum distance of about 500 meters. A further problem is many guided missiles couldn't fire under 500 meters. If y...

Re: I Ain't been Nuked, Mum!

I kept it pretty simple, really. No strike dice reduction for range, no firing over water features, minimum ranges (a lot of the Cold War guided missiles had around 500m minimum range). All HEAT weapons have an asterisk on their strike dice number which indicates they get a +1 on each strike die to ...

Re: I Ain't been Nuked, Mum!

I'm basically finished with my 1978 German Civil War supplement, but I hope to release it in the Christmas Special. I am happy to talk about it till then, however. One thing I did was I tried to make everything backwards compatible with WW2 IABSM, since there were still a lot of WW2 era vehicles and...

Re: What happened to I aint been nuked mum?

I'm working on my notes for a German Civil War 1979 supplement for TW&T. The rules should be largely compatible with IABSM though... would that be of interest?

Re: TWT 15mm?

I play 15mm TW&T (with FOW basing, actually!) and I don't touch the range measurements at all. Instead, I say every inch is equal to 10 feet instead of 2 yards, which brings the ground scale in line with 15mm troops (so 15mm equals a 6 foot tall soldier—just about right!). The ranges are still perfe...

Re: TW&T for solo play

Certainly, just give the opposing force an objective and play them as they would reasonably be played. You can handle dynamic or hesitant enemy commanders by just throwing those cards in the deck. Platoon Forward is excellent for coming up with random forces, as you've mentioned!

Re: Armor values

By the way, now that my monstrous 30+ page Winter War supplement for the Christmas Special is finished, I am considering writing a Monte Casino supplement and scenario for TW&T, if there is any interest in that! It would feature some oddball TO&Es that you don't see too often, such as 1st SSF Devil'...
