Austrian Advanced Guard

Would this be considered a Brigade in GdA terms ? And on the wider subject the Advanced Guard seem to have a good reputation do they get treated any differently from standard Austrian brigades ? Re: Perennial basing/unit size question

Archdukes post is excellent as is Maturin's and the theme between both of them is that "what works for you". I have read all 24 pages on the posts of this forum regarding unit size/basing and ground scale and the most common statement from new players is around the lack of the explanation that Archd...

Perennial basing/unit size question

I am "new" to napoleonic despite having a model collection for over 20 years. It was based for a game system I never played but one that was suggested to me. I have moved to GdA, again, because that is what my opponent is considering moving to. What I cannot reconcile as a "newish" player is the con...

Re: Cavalry unit sizes

DB, Thanks, I am using 2 figure bases because that is what I came into GDA with, not necessarily by choice. When I first read the description I missed the section on companies. So I thought that the four bases equated to 4 squadrons (8 figures) and would be enough but the "Regiment" didn't look righ...

Re: Cavalry unit sizes

Thank you for all your responses. So I think my issue is one of "space" that a unit occupies. My 15mm collection has been ported over from NAP POW which I never played but based for, but hasn't been on the table for over 20 years. My current Cavalry units (Uhlans, Chasseurs and Hussars are all based...

Cavalry unit sizes

Good afternoon. At one point when organising my Polish I thought I had "enough" Cavalry as I misread the number of figures to a base and what it represents. Essentially a company. So I was merrily content with 8 figures. Not so. At 1:20 (and yes I know the rules don't require that level of detail) I...

Re: Limbers and clutter ?

Thanks again for the responses. I am not buying more/new it was just that a couple were needing a repaint and I wanted to check. One per Battery seems ideal (for what we are playing with) so I will have to try out some ideas
