Re: 3D-printing tanks...

Resin printing is definitely not for the faint hearted, there is a lot of smelly adn messy things to deal with. It certainly isn't... but with the right equipment it's not too difficult :) So not that different from having a child then. I have 22 kids, and well, you have a point... Just remember ki...

Re: WW2 6mm Hex terrain and Lard games

Probably the most beautiful terrain in 6mm ever! Fantastic work and effort! I hope you will continue in this scale, because I was always keen on going the same way for playing "Panzer" in 6mm on hex terrain. Although hexes half the size (50mm) would fit the big maps better. Anyway - I am looking fo...

Re: 3D-printing tanks...

Thankyou for that. It looks like a good price (£229 on Amazon uK) - my only question is I wonder if I would be better looking for one with a slightly larger print area. Printers in this price range all have around the same print area and yield comparable results. If you go larger you either need a ...

Those look great. Did I miss it up thread, or did you not mention what type of printer you have?
I have an Elegoo MARS. I am really impressed with this printer.

Re: 3D-printing tanks...

0.02 is probably a sensible limit, 0.01 is asking a lot. You are probably right, but I am curious to what level I can push my printer... Due to the current Corona crisis I am forced to work from home. As a teacher, working from home can be quite challenging (no real problems, mind, as we are all qu...

Crank up the angle so the front plate is at around 23 degrees. Will reduce those lines on the little one ;)
Thanks for the tip :D

Yes, the set-up needs some tweaking. I might lower the resolution to 0.01mm. I also over-supported the little ones and cleaning up damaged some of the finer details.

Re: 3D-printing tanks...

I haven't scaled them up to 1/56, but I am currently printing a set at 1/285... I will show you how they turn out as soon as I have them out of the printer and cleaned.

Re: 3D-printing tanks...

I have printed a couple more tanks for my British/Commonwealth project... https://i.ibb.co/qNLhBZS/20200316-195654.jpg https://i.ibb.co/2v9Cx7Q/20200316-195706.jpg I think these Sherman Fireflies turned out rather nice... These will be used in our games of What a Tanker! first, and when I have built...
