Desert terrain

I’m trying to work up a US/German desert scenario using a couple of armored battalions in a meeting engagement and had a couple of terrain questions. I’m thinking of treating areas of soft sand as rough terrain with the potential for bogging as normal. But, I’m not sure how to treat wadis. Should th...

Attached heavy weapons casualties

I saw in the four part video where a roll was made after a close combat to see whether a casualty was assigned to an infantry section or the attached heavy weapon section. However, I can’t seem to find it in the rules. Is the roll only made after a close combat; or, do you make the check after a dir...

Dave:

Hesitant companies and firing

On page 26 it says that units from a hesitant company may only fire at close range. Later on it says that the restriction only applies in the player’s own phase. So, it sounds like the range restriction does not apply for hesitant units performing react fire. Am I reading this correctly? If so, why ...

Re: Airborne drops and beach landings

I’m really interested in running the air assault on the Orne River and Caen Canal bridges by Major Howard’s Ox and Bucks. I know the coup de main operation itself was less than battalion strength (six gliders, each with a platoon, if memory serves); but, perhaps I could have a couple companies of e...

Re: Airborne drops and beach landings

I’ve actually seen that technique done in other games - it works pretty well.

The fan is a nice touch . . . 😜😂

Airborne drops and beach landings

Dave:

I know you are currently working on an east front scenario book. Are there any future plans to include rules for doing airborne drops and/or amphibious landings?

Re: Cristot question

It sounds to me like if you are outside the orchard you can see into every part of it; but, not all the way through to the other side. If you are inside the orchard, there is no LOS blockage.
