Re: Moving & Firing

I quite like only shooting if moved up to 50 percent of their allowance.

Re: GDA2

Dave, certainly agree with your examples. Can’t get the idea out of my head now of when a brigade goes hesitant that I set their status to eating strawberries. The balance over history and a game. Just with smaller scales it can take quite a number of turns to move so hesitancy is quite detrimental ...

Re: GDA2

I know the Calvary frontage modifier and consider it in every game. Adds tactical decision determining what information I should be in and what formation my reserve line is. I would think perhaps amending brigades to go hesitant on a 1 and not a 1 or a 2 if outwidth a certain distance of the enemy w...

Re: GDA2

I play in 6mm so my only niggling thing about the rules is hesitancy. Takes an age to get a brigade moving a distance. I would like something along the lines of before battle or arrival from reserve to have an order. To change the order some kind of test would be needed. Make brigade commander perso...

Re: In which order?

I had previously played that the support moved back first allowing the leading unit to move behind the support. Going forward doing both at the same time makes more sense. Always good to have one unit from the brigade slightly back then that isn’t supporting a lead unit to allow the lead and support...

In which order?

Dont have the rules with me, but was playing a game recently. In essence after loosing combat my leading unit had to retreat behind a unit. In addition my support had to retire. So do you move the supporting unit first so that the lead unit can go behind it. Or does the leading unit do its move firs...

Re: 6mm Basing

I dont have any Adler figures so dont really know base size. Each baccus strip of infantry is 20mm long for four men and comfortable be two ranks deep on a 20mm by 20mm. In essence if wanting to do 40mm x 20mm it would take 4 strips of infantry amounting to 24 men per base. The difficulty is having ...

Re: 6mm Basing

In essence the same numbers of figures as I use. 40mm by 20mm are easier to move if not using movement trays. With just three bases, forming a square might be a pain but also column of march may not be possible. I did start my project doing 2 x20mm by 20mm bases and 2 40mm by 20 bases to do squares....
