Re: At the Sharp End - Full Ladder campaigns

Many thanks all - some excellent ideas and and much wisdom and good advice. I think the "snakes and ladders" concept could open up some intriguing possibilities, and likewise the idea that potentially a series of linked campaigns might better recreate some of the more extreme ebbs and flows of deser...

At the Sharp End - Full Ladder campaigns

Has anyone ever played a full ladder campaign, either with no map, a simple map, or a full map? I'm pretty sure the official and unofficial PSCs I've seen are all some form of abbreviated ladder campaign, generally with a clear sense of one side attacking and the other defending. I've been looking a...

Re: Fisticuffs Anomaly

Given the narrative nature of Sharp Practice I think bandrsntch's suggestion and reasoning is pretty sound! I suspect an involuntary withdrawal of the Indian unit is only deferring the downed leader's fate, but it opens up great narrative possibilities

Re: Leaders firing their own weapon

Answer on p. 21 of the main rules: When attached to a Unit, a Leader will move and fire with that unit at no additional cost in Command Initiative until he chooses to detach himself.

So in your scenario, both leaders could fire.

Re: Same team but different cover?

However officer being hit when completely obstructed seems a bit odd, ill chalk it up to him peeking out to give out orders and then coincidentally gets hit, I thought he would have been treated like the rest, but rules are rules. You are spot on with your chalking up! There are some reasonable arg...

German winter uniforms

I've seen some photos of re-enactors in German uniforms as well as painted German figures wearing white smocks or parkas with red stripes around one or both of the sleeves on the upper arm. What does the red stripes/ribbons signify (if anything)?

If you've not seen it already, it would be worth having a look at Mr Clarke's TooFatLardies twitter account, were he has been working on a similar approach to representing a walled city, in his case for his Renaissance project. Nice work on both accounts!

Re: CoC Bloody Bucket campaign (updated 30 05 21)

A fair call and a well-fought victory. As you yourself have noted, it does look like a tough campaign for the Germans to win, though I suspect if they are lucky with an early victory they may prove harder to stop. I would be interested if you can share any of Dave's thoughts/reflections on playing t...
